So what do you do for a living? After almost 50 years, I often struggle with how to answer that question. In most business settings I respond by saying “I own a manufacturing company” With new acquaintances I usually say I make jewelry. When filling out a form I typically fill in the occupation box with CEO.
It is not that I don’t want to answer directly, it just always seems complicated to explain and sometime boastful so I usually just don’t.
The other day I was at the hospital for some routine testing and I noticed a young lady in the waiting area wearing one of the cross necklaces that I designed years ago. When the nurse called her name she reached up and took hold of the cross.
When it was my turn the nurse called my name and at the door she greeted me with “good morning Mr. Siemon so what do you do for a living?” Without hesitation I responded with “I help to share God’s message of hope”
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you…Ephesians 1:18
Do you know someone that needs a reminder of God’s message of hope?
